NOTICE OF MEETING

Notice is hereby given that the Taylor County Commissioners’ Court will meet on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in regular session for Commissioners Court in the Commissioners’ Courtroom at 9:00 a.m., Taylor County Plaza (3rd floor) 400 Oak Street, Abilene, Texas, to consider the following items: 

1. Call meeting to order

2. Play >>  Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance

3. Play >>  Consider approval of minutes of previous meetings and adopt agenda

4. Play >>  Presentation of Service Awards

5. Play >>  Present Proclamation to Regional Victims Crisis Center in recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month

6. Play >>  Public Comment Pursuant to Texas Government Code 551.007 of items listed on this agenda

7. Consider approval of budget adjustments and transfers, if any

8. Play >>  Consider approval of bills for payment and ratify payroll and any appropriate action

9. Play >>  Consider approval of the December 2023 Treasurer’s Report and any appropriate action

10. Play >>  Consider approval of the new Treasurer Bond and any appropriate action

11. Play >>  Consider approval of renewing the Notary Public Errors and Omissions Policy and any appropriate action

12. Play >>  Consider approval of a grant resolution to apply for funding for Juvenile Services through the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor of the State of Texas and any appropriate action

13. Play >>  Consider appointment of  Darrin Cox, to serve on the Taylor County Child Welfare Board and any appropriate action

14. Play >>  Consider approval of the Racial Profiling Reports for Sheriff’s Office and Constable’s office and any appropriate action

15. Play >>  Consider a joint appointment of Shea Hall to serve on the Abilene/Taylor County Venue District Board and any appropriate action

16. Play >>  Consider approval of applications for the Senate Bill (SB) 22 Rural Law Enforcement Grants for the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office and any appropriate action

17. Play >>  Consider approval of a Right of Way application from Taylor Telecom for fiber optic construction to provide broadband internet services to a new customer on CR 175 in Precinct 3 and any appropriate action

18. Play >>  Consider advertising and specifications of RFP 2024-501 Emergency Medical Services and any appropriate action

19. Play >>  In accordance with Government Code Section 551.071, regarding consultation with an attorney on contemplated litigation and a settlement offer, CONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION

20. Play >>  RECONVENE IN REGULAR SESSION, and any appropriate action

21. Play >>   Adjourn
